4/5/2024 EnchantaVaughn Approved Behavior: Josiah has started his week off in a negative manner as he self reported he was involved in a verbal altercation with his mother 1x's with moderate intensity for 2 minutes. Josiah reported the incident started when she asked him to get his room cleaned before school and he refused. Behavior: Josiah reported it was then that she yelled at him 2-3x's with moderate intensity during the 2 minute incident. Intervention: QMHP-C redirected Josiah for being hyperactive during the start of session. QMHP-C engaged Josiah in discussion regarding his disrespectful behaviors within the home and community. QMHP-C probed Josiah to share what he learned about being a team player during our previous session on respecting authority figures. QMHP-C directed Josiah to share at least 3 characteristics of a team player and give an example. Intervention: QMHP-C reinforced the importance of being a leader and doing what is right. QMHP-C completed three leadership activities with Josiah. Those exercises were used with the hopes of enhancing Josiah’s teamwork and leadership abilities. Response: Josiah seemed receptive to today’s individual counseling session in which, presented as initially inattentive during the beginning of today’s session. Josiah had a difficult time staying focused and sustaining attention, but was redirected and responded well. Josiah was also easily distracted by others within the home. Josiah verbalized that he has enjoyed all sessions this week and vowed to continue doing his best to change his negative behaviors at home and community. Response: Josiah displayed an understanding of the importance of being a team player as well as a leader. QMHP-C will continue to work with Josiah on improving maladaptive behaviors in the home, school and community.
